Useful English

Lets practice some useful English.

The picture above is a fuel gauge(燃料計) that is common to see in a car.

The “E” means “empty”.   The “F” means “full”.

These are very useful words to use everyday in English. For example,

I have no energy today.  I feel like I am running on empty. (If you are in a car, we would say that you are “driving on empty”. Which means you have no fuel.  For humans we say “running on empty”.

My bank account is empty.  I need to start saving more money.

I’m full.  I can’t eat anymore.  This means that my stomach is full.

President Trump is full of shit.  This is a very casual way to say that someone is always lying and they are “full” of lies.
