Hello Everyone,
Today we continued talking about useful English for traveling. Today we did some role playing about hotels in English. Everyone did a great job translating their questions / problems in English for calling the front desk. Lets review some of the points that we talked about when you check into a hotel.
Front Desk Clerk : Hello, welcome to the Green International Hotel. May I have the name on the reservation?
John Smith : Hello. Sure, the name on the reservation is John Smith.
Front Desk Clerk : Okay Mr. Smith, I see that you are staying for two nights. Is that correct?
John Smith : Yes that is correct.
Front Desk Clerk : Alright Mr. Smith we have two types of rooms available. I have a room with one king size bed and one room with two queen size beds. Which one would you like?
John Smith : I would like the room with the king size bed please.
Front Desk Clerk : Okay. May I see the credit card that you used to book the hotel? Also there is a $50 deposit that you need to pay now and we will refund the deposit when you check out.
John Smith : Here is the credit card I used to book the hotel. Please charge the $50 deposit to this credit card.
Front Desk Clerk : Okay I can do that for you sir. Here are your room keys and your credit card. Do you have any questions?
John Smith : Yeah, I have two questions. First of all, what time is check out? Next I would like to know if your hotel serves a free breakfast in the morning?
