I grew up in Idaho. Idaho is actually a pretty dry place. Many plants dry up( 乾燥する) after spring. So there is not a lot of green color. Mainly we can see green on the evergreen trees.
Below is a picture that was taken in the fall season. This place is in the mountains close to where my family lives in Idaho. You can see that the only green is on the pine trees on the mountains.
However Japan is a very green place. Everywhere I look I see something green. Even in fall and winter I see lots of green.
I can even see green moss(苔) growing on this stone lantern in the fall. This is another thing I really like about living in Japan.
