Hi Everyone,
We talked about many interesting topics today. Let’s review some of what was said tonight.
to resist / to stand / to endure: 堪える
patient: 我慢する
For example,
I was able to resist buying the newest I-Phone. I will be patient and wait for the next I-Phone to come out.
I can’t endure cold weather for a long time. I also can’t stand really hot and humid weather. I wish I was more patient.
At the end of the class tonight we talked a lot about directions. Some of the words we used were; slope, incline, decline, recline, vertical, and horizontal, and horizon.
Here are some example sentences.
I usually can’t endure cold weather for a long time. However I’m able to stand it when I go snowboarding on a beautiful mountain slope. I love to ride the ski-lift up the incline of the mountain. The ski-lift’s chair is hard and I wish it could recline so that I can be more comfortable. While I’m riding the ski-lift I love to see the snow covered trees standing vertically on the distant horizon. When I reach the top of the mountain I put my board horizontally on the ground and I start moving down the decline slope of the mountain.
