Australian scientists say climate change has officially killed off its first mammal species. Oh no, was it murder?! Yes it was, we humans did it. The victim is a tiny rat like creature called the Bramble Cay Melomys who’s habitat on a small coral island on the Great Barrier Reef was destroyed by rising sea levels over the past decade.
This is a tragedy. Especially since its last words were “I probably should have mentioned this earlier but I’m a talking rat!” Now, I’ve been putting off showing a picture of the Melomys.
